Kam Rathee

Kam is a leading authority on Canada-India business relations having served as special advisor - India, with Canada's prominent law firm, Blake, Cassels & Graydon, LLP from 2008 to 2020. Earlier, he held the position of president and executive director at the Canada-India Business Council from 2004 to 2009 and currently serves as its Vice-Chairman. From 2001 to 2004, he headed a Toronto-based international consulting firm, assisting Canadian companies in India and Indian companies in Canada.

As a top legal executive of Canada Life from 1988 to 2001, Kam was senior counsel for the company's international operations in India, Brazil, China, Hong Kong, Macau and the Caribbean. From 1983 to 1988, he conducted a very successful international practice of law in New Delhi. This, together with his leadership role for Canada Life in India (1995 to 2001), gave him unmatched experience and widespread contacts in India. He was also a senior in-house counsel for Crown Life in Toronto from 1970 to 1983. As a result of his accomplishments in both Canada and India, Kam has acquired a unique international persona that enables him to assist clients with their business needs on a global scale.

Kam is a member of the board of directors of the Canada-India Business Council and vice-chairman of the Canada-India Education Council, a not-for-profit national association. In addition, he has served with United Way of Metropolitan Toronto, was chairman of Pickering's Pine Ridge School Community Council, co-chair of Ajax-Pickering Transit Advisory Committee and a member of the City of Pickering Library Board, to name a few.
